The Active Shooter Simulation Training (ASST) Program
The ASST program uses active shooter simulation scenarios to help employees survive an attack in their workplace.
The ASST program is customized specifically for each facility and ensures each employee knows what to do in the event of an attack.
STEP 1
ACTIVE SHOOTER VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT
The Active Shooter Vulnerability Assessment analyzes current and emerging threats from active shooters in your industry and location. It identifies the security gaps and weaknesses that could make you vulnerable to an attack, and recommends the best security measures to reduce your risks. We will also provide you with guidance and support for implementing the security measures.
STEP 2
SAFETY ORIENTATION
Before simulation training, your staff will attend a safety orientation session on what to expect and how to prepare for the training. They’ll learn: the objectives and benefits of the training, which will equip them with the skills and knowledge to survive an active shooter. They’ll be introduced to the instructors, who are ex-Military and Intelligence community professionals skilled in emergency response tactics and techniques. Finally, they’ll review your firm’s location-specific Active Shooter Vulnerability Assessment, which analyzes the current and emerging threats from active shooters in your industry and location and identifies your security weaknesses and vulnerabilities to an active shooter assault.
STEP 3
SIMULATION TRAINING
ASST Trainers will conduct a 4-hour, on-site session with live, action-driven simulated scenarios with props. ASST Trainers go beyond Run-Hide-Fight to train your staff in the “how” of survival. They will learn EMT techniques such as bleeding control and wound care. ASST Trainers will review your location-specific Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and provide a Certificate of Training for each participant and your organization.
Once the ASST program is completed, additional training to reinforce and enhance skill sets is available. On-going training programs are customized to meet the needs of the specific organization. Contact us for more details.
